Introduction

The Faculty of Medicine offers the Medical Doctor Undergraduate Program (MDUP or the "Program"), which leads to the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. The Program requires a minimum of 90 university credits in preparation for the MD degree plus four years of study in Medicine. A physician's education can be broadly divided into four phases:

1. Pre-medical preparation, which can be completed in a variety of faculties or programs.
2. MDUP training (four years).
3. Residency training (two years or more).
4. Continuing professional development.

The MDUP provides the medical school training referenced in the second phase above.
