The Faculty of Medicine offers the Medical Doctor Undergraduate Program (MDUP or the "Program"), which leads to the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. The Program requires a minimum of 90 university credits in preparation for the MD degree plus four years of study in Medicine. A physician's education can be broadly divided into four phases:
- Pre-medical preparation, which can be completed in a variety of faculties or programs.
- MDUP training (four years).
- Residency training (two years or more).
- Continuing professional development.
The MDUP provides the medical school training referenced in the second phase above.
